Whimsical Twist layouts

Hi everyone! Happy Hump day! :)I'm hopping on today to share a layout that I had go live on the Whimsical Twist blog over the last few days.

This one from our trip to the pumpkin patch last year. It's using the yummy persimmon collection from Basic Grey, and was an inspiration piece for the new texture challenge over at WT! Head over here to read a little about this layout, and to enter for your chance at a $15 gift certificate to the shop!

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a great week, and take time to create something you love!

Home is Where You Are

Hi all!! Finally settling back down around here after a busy weekend, of cookouts and sleepovers. It flew by, but we all had a blast!

Today I have a project to share with you. I ordered this collage 12x12 photo from Persnickety Prints. Originally the plan was just to put it in the altered frame, but when it came, one of the photos in the collage was not blending well at all with the others. Most of these were Instagram photos, and I must have used a different filter on that one, cause it stuck out like an eye sore. So I decided to alter the print a little and see if I could make it work.

I layered up some different pattern papers from Glitz and Studio Calico, along with tags and washi. The "love lives here" die cut is from Studio Calico, I simply used my Cameo and die cut it from vellum and then layered it over some wood grain paper from Basic Grey. Adding in some other stickers, stick pins, veneer, and buttons and brads, I think finished it off nicely. The frame was a plain wood frame I picked up at my LSS. I simply cut this Amy Tangerine paper to fit the frame, adhered it, then used gesso over the top to give it a white washed look.

This will go great in my scrap room, which is finally coming together. My hubby built me an AMAZING desk this weekend! Will share pics soon! :)

Hope you all have a fabulous week, and take time to create something you love! :)

Project 12: May

Hi all!! Happy Wednesday! :) I have my May Project 12 spread to share with you today. Still loving this process, and so glad I started in January!

Here's the full spread:

Right side:

Pretty simple this month, I had some photo issues. I ordered a set of prints from Origrami to use for this spread, and while I loved the quality, they were a little bigger than I expected. So even after cropping/trimming them down, they took up the majority of the pocket space. Will definitely have to remember that for next time!

Hope you all have a fabulous day,  and take time to create something you love! :)

A Favorite Photo

Hi all!! I have another layout to share today using the March kits from Gossamer Blue! I am still loving this kit and all of the Glitz included...love the bright, fun colors in the Color Me Happy collection!!

I love, love, love this photo of my three kiddos...it will be scrapped multiple times, already decided! lol. I thought it went perfect with this chalkboard paper from Glitz, and I loved adding in all the color around it.

Not sure I love how the journaling looks, but I almost always feel that way! lol. I need to be more thoughtful of my journaling during the design process, I believe! Do you all design with journaling in mind? Tips always welcome! :)

I decided to take a leap and enter this into the Gossamer Blue/Glitz guest designer contest...we shall see how that goes! lol.

Hope you all have a fabulous day, and take time to create something you love!

Project 12: Title Page

Happy Tuesday!! It does not feel like a Tuesday, we are on Spring Break this week and my hubby took off yesterday so we could enjoy a long weekend...so I am all mixed up on days! lol.

Today I am going to share my Project 12 title page. I went back and forth since starting this on whether or not I was going to even do a title page. Finally though, I decided to keep all these layouts in a separate album, and decided to go ahead, that way if I have enough space for all of this year and some of next year, I'll have dividers.

When I got the March kit in from Gossamer Blue, I was beyond excited. I actually even ended up ordering multiple add-ons this month. It was full of Glitz "Color Me Happy" lots of Elle's Studio, MME, Echo Park...just plain fabulous! So I was instantly inspired to use if for my cover page.

I had this fun idea to do my year as separate typography style die cuts...I think it turned out pretty good...not quite the picture I envisioned, but close!

Here's a view of my page:

I love these bright colors!! I really went back and forth on adding in a photo...finally I decided to use a black and white shot from Colten's 3 month shoot. I didn't have a recent shot of the 5 of us, which is something I need to remedy, but I love this photo, and it worked perfect against all the color.

I am really loving this title page...really this whole process of Project 12. Its nice to know I am getting those pictures and moments that might not normally make it in the scrapbooks, recorded and knowing that they will be remembered!

Hope you have a great week, and take time to create something you love!!

CHA Faves

Happy, happy Monday!! :) Thought I'd hop on today and share some of my favorite new lines coming out! I think all the companies really knocked it out of the park this go round!

First up is Glitz! While they always have beautiful collections, it usually doesn't mesh well with my style, but I am loving everything they put out this time! I will definitely pick up bits and pieces of all the collections, but my favorite of theirs, and the one I *need* all of is "Color Me Happy"

Another surprise for me was Amy Tan's line, Yes, Please. Again, while her collections have always been super cute and fun, they just didn't mesh with me...however, love this line and will be scooping up tons of it!

Next, is the Maggie Holmes line with Crate Paper! Can we say GORGEOUS!! Love it all!! I'm especially excited about her mini album!

Love Lily Bee, especially the "b" sides of all their Destination paper! Woodgrain and white!

Simple Stories...always a fave!

3100-01 copy

My Mind's Eye!! Love every single line!!
