Kindergarten Round Up

Wow!! Going on day 3 now of actually posting something!! Can you believe it! lol.

I was going through my photos the other day, and stumbled across this one that I hadn't scrapped yet. Just so happens that on the same day I was cleaning up my scrap room and found this school line from Fancy Pants that I love, and totally forgot I had. I took it as a sign that some scrapping needed done! lol.
So when the little guy laid down for a nap, little miss Katlyn and I decided to get in some crafty time! :)

 

I tell you what, in my opinion the photo doesn't do this layout justice. I really love the way it turned out...so much that I didn't put any mist on it. I always mist on my layouts, and just go with it...but I was so afraid that it would mess up the rest of the layout that I didn't. Yes, I am an end of the layout splatterer. lol.

I love this line from Fancy Pants, the untradional colors along with all the fun icons. So glad that I stumbled across it in my stash.

Gossamer Blue

So I told y'all, I recently joined the kit club Gossamer Blue, and so far I am beyond pleased with it. They give so much in the kit, I think its a lot of bang for your buck! The also offer a great incentive program...if you complete 4 layouts/month with the kit, then in that 6th month you receive a free album! Which I love because 1) I always forget to buy new albums, and 2) there is so much product that you can easily complete 4 layouts and still have leftover.

So, here is the first layout using the February kit. Love the colors in this months kit.

 

I am so beyond happy with how this turned out, especially since I struggled so much with it. I had certain elements I decided right off that I wanted to use, and I had a hard time making them work to the picture in my head! Everything on this page minus the flair bag, paper clip, and mist came straight from the kit. Lots of Crate Paper, My Mind's Eye, and Carta Bella used on here.

Also, this is the first "little guy" photo I have scrapped, finally getting a start on some of his pages!! :)

New Blog Design and a GIVEAWAY!!!

If you are here fairly often, then you no doubt noticed the FABULOUS new look my blog has! I was so ready for a change, needed something to help get me back up and rolling on here. So while scrolling through my blog list, I saw where Megan, had recently designed a couple of blog headers, so after a few emails back and forth, this is what she came up with! I LOVE IT!! I am also going to let you know that she did this with very little input from me, lol, I told her I had no idea what I wanted just something fresh and clean...I sent her a link to my pinterest boards and there you have it!

She has a few other blogs she has designed headers and such for ( she did a complete overhaul for me), and they are all fabulous! Head over the her blog Megan Klauer Design and check her work out!

Sooo....since I am so extremely happy with my new blog, and it has me itching to get crafty, I thought I would do a fun little giveaway to help inspire you all also! :)

I don't have a photo at the moment, gotta love those spur of the moment decisions!! I will post one soon, in the meantime just think some Dear Lizzy, Amy Tan, Basic Grey, all kinds of goodies!! I'm going to try and go big for y'all!! :)

Project 12: January

Happy Friday!! I am so glad its the weekend, ready for a couple days of sleeping in...no school on Monday either, so makes it even better!! :)

Today I wanted to share my Project 12 layout for January. For those of you who don't know what Project 12 is, its basically Project Life only from a monthly viewpoint, or kinda like a month in review type layout. You can find more details, and explained much better than I am, here at the Gossamer Blue blog. Speaking of Gossamer Blue, I just took the plunge and joined their kit club, I have thought about different times joining various ones over the years, just wasn't sure any would "fit" me, so far I am sooo happy with this one!! Definitely check it out if you are on the fence, fabulous price, and full of amazing product! :)

Anyways, on to my layouts.

Here is the two page spread together. ( I forgot how hard two pagers were to photograph, and being in the protectors already, YIKES!! Will definitely have to work on that! :))

I really had a lot of fun with this, and while its definitely a different kind of scrapping than I am used to, I love it as a monthly review, and a way to get some of those photos in the scrapbook that might not make it otherwise.

Exciting news...I will be teaching another class at my LSS in March. Its a little mini album titled "Little Moments" silly me, didn't get a picture before I took it in, but if any of you are in or around Jasper, Indiana, and would like to check it out and maybe take the class you can find the info here  in the March newsletter which will be ready soon!!

Follow Your Heart

Hi all!! I am so excited!! I actually got some time to get crafty!! Three days in a row!!!

I did my first installment of Project 12, my January spread...I had a lot of fun doing it!! I definitely don't think I could handle Project Life, and always scrapping in this format, but I definitely like it for a monthly review. Hopefully I can get some pics to share with you tomorrow!

Today I am going to share this super cute, simple, and easy little wall hanging I made for Miss E to hang in her new room. I plan on making more so she can have a little gallery wall.

I knew I had to use this little saying on there, and it, along with the colors of her room, were perfect for the Love Story collection from Echo Park.

I am really happy with the way this turned out! I tried doing a little offset chevron pattern for the back...which I think looks pretty cool! :) I kept feeling like I needed to add something to the left side, but every time I tried something I didn't like it. I wanted to quote and the pattern to take center stage...what do you all think?? Need something else?? Open to suggestions!! :)

Well, the little man has decided he has let me have enough "me" time today, lol, off to cuddle him and my 2 girlies.

Food for Thought

Hi all!! I know its been super quiet here on the old blog, and I just want to say thank you to those of you that are still hanging on for me. I always get so excited when one of leaves me a little note, so thank you...I truly appreciate all of you!

Now, with that being said, I still don't have a project to share with you...I have tons of ideas floating in my mind, just need to sit down and put them to paper. I did do a layout the other day, using the sketch that Gossamer Blue had up, and I just wasn't happy with it, at all, in fact, I dislike it so much, I'm not even going to share it here...I will probably redo it, because the pictures are of my beautifully round preggo belly, and I want those to be in Colten's album. So as I was looking at that layout trying to figure out exactly what I disliked about it so much, really there is nothing wrong with it, its a perfectly fine layout, it just struck me as so blah, so not me....which got me wondering what is "me", do I really know my style, what makes me happy/not happy with a layout.
So I started scrolling through a bunch of oldies and I discovered that the ones I like the best were the ones I just had fun with, no pressures, no has to be this, has to be that...so I need to find that again, and quit getting caught up in what I "think" my layouts should be.
Does that make sense?? Any of you ever gone through anything similar?? Please share if so!!

CHA Faves

Happy, happy Monday!! :) Thought I'd hop on today and share some of my favorite new lines coming out! I think all the companies really knocked it out of the park this go round!

First up is Glitz! While they always have beautiful collections, it usually doesn't mesh well with my style, but I am loving everything they put out this time! I will definitely pick up bits and pieces of all the collections, but my favorite of theirs, and the one I *need* all of is "Color Me Happy"

 

 

Another surprise for me was Amy Tan's line, Yes, Please. Again, while her collections have always been super cute and fun, they just didn't mesh with me...however, love this line and will be scooping up tons of it!

 



Next, is the Maggie Holmes line with Crate Paper! Can we say GORGEOUS!! Love it all!! I'm especially excited about her mini album!

 

 

Love Lily Bee, especially the "b" sides of all their Destination paper! Woodgrain and white!
